Jamie Bayley
Software Developer
As an entirely self-taught Software Developer, I joined the company in April 2020 after completing my first role for the Surrey Space Centre at the University of Surrey, developing embedded code for the latest commercial-off-the-shelf microprocessors that may just fly and operate in space.
My professional background
I have joined the KISPE team to learn and to help to develop software for the next generation of small satellites. Learning what is needed to develop embedded software to run on latest technologies, and I went from 0 to 100 in one year.
I successfully wrote and tested reliable code, maintained documentation and supported the execution of tests to measure the susceptability of commercial off-the-shelf technology to the space radiation environment.
Ever since I was little, I always wanted to be a farmer. Although far from my current ambitions, satellite solutions do play a significant role in aiding farmers with analysing crop nutrients and water staus, planning irrigation and combatting fires and crop disease. I can therefore say that I am involved indirectly!
What I enjoy doing:
Outside of regular working hours, I spend time on my other passion, music. I have been DJing for 8 years and play a range of instruments as well as producing my own music.
So if it's the dancefloor you need shaking, or the software you need making, I'm your guy!
