Sufy Akram
Engineer
I joined the company in 2019 straight from completing my Master's Engineering degree, working initially on space situational awareness projects.
Like many who enter the Space Industry, I wanted to be an Astronaut when I grew up.
Now that I am actually working in the space engineering sector, I am excited to be contributing to the development of space.
I enjoy baking anything with chocolate! I also like making DIY modifications and repairs to electronics and video games, and I love to travel.
My professional designations and accomplishments
I graduated from the University of Bristol with a MEng in Aeropace Engineering which included contributions to the University of Bristol Cubesat Programme (UoBSat), which gave me my first insights into mission-focused systems engineering challenges.
I was also a member of Bristol Univestity's IT helpdesk team, fixing my fellow students' computer hardware and software problems.
I also participated in a European Space Agency Concurrent Engineering Challenge as a member of the AOCS design team.
At KISPE I have progressed from space situational awareness projects to mission analysis and design projects and the development of satellite mission modelling and simulation tools.
I also support systems, engineering, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and production activities to support a range of internal and customer projects.
How I contribute to the KISPE customer experience
I am passionate about problem solving and applying Mathematics and Physics to real-world problems to help customers with their goals.
