DESCRIPTION

KISPE require an experienced Electronics Engineer with proven FPGA experience, who will work alongside the existing team, to support the development and implementation of our satellite programmes.

The Electronics Engineer will support the complete lifecycle of products, form concept and design, through test and verification.  They must have the ability to turn conceptual ideas and requirements into systems that can fly!

The Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the development of products, from breadboarding prototypes, engineering models through to units for flight.  They will be responsible for deriving testing that proves the products are fit for flight. They will also be responsible for the implementation and test of FPGA firmware.

They should have demonstrable experience in the design and implementation of digital electronics and FPGAs, as well as the generation of schematic designs and PCB layouts.

KISPE have a development lab, as well as in house prototyping and assembly environments.  Therefore, the Electronics Engineer should have familiarity of working in a lab environment and hands on build experience.

The Electronics Engineer will support interactions with customers, and provide technical support to related proposal efforts.  Additionally, they will provide support and mentoring to other staff as required.

KEY SKILLS

Skills & Experience

  • Electronics Engineering Degree or similar (or relevant experience)
  • 3 or more years’ proven experience in electronics design, implementation and test, including:
    • Digital electronics
    • Development and testing of FPGA firmware
    • Spacecraft or space technology development would be desirable
  • Experience in the generation of schematics, component layout and routing
    • Familiarity with Fusion would be a benefit
  • Experience in undertaking design calculations and generation of design notes
  • Familiarity of working in a lab environment and breadboarding / building of engineering models
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present information clearly to a diverse audience
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting workloads
  • Ability to work independently and also within a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Ability to thrive in a technical environment
